CLIMATE FINANCE PROMOTION KICKS OFF

Almost four years ago in August 2012, then Pres, Benigno Aquino signed into law Republic 10174 which created the People's Survival Fund (PSF), a P1 billion per year direct access financing window intended to assist local governments in enabling their climate change adaptation actions.

However, the fund remains untapped by local governments who are largely unaware of its existence.

With the assistance of Royal Patron Shubert Ciencia who is a longtime technical adviser of the Philippine delegation to the United Nations Climate Talks, Model Court took the task of introducing the PSF to climate change-vulnerable local governments in Nueva Ecija.

Free technical services in project development are also offered to interested local governments through the expertise and facilitation of the Royal Patron, and Vice-Mayor Emmanuel Antonio Umali of flood-prone Cabanatuan City was the first local government recipient of the Court's PSF promotion effort.

FBS BLOOD PROFILES DIAGNOSED AND PRESENTED

A month ago, members of Model Lodge No. 373 lined up to give their blood samples that will establish the baseline for Model Court's Year-Long Diabetes Awareness Program.

The results were analyzed and diagnosed by the Cabrera-Dones Diagnostics Center and the resulting FBS profile presented by Associate Grand Conductress Marita Cabrera-Dones (MD) and DDGRP Irineo Dones, Sr. (MD) through DDGRM Preciline Bugtong-Andaya to RM Baby Liza Ciencia who then, with the Honored Ladies of the Court, individually discussed the findings to each blood sample donors.

The FBS profile will be the main reference in designing  a blood sugar reduction program that will be launched by the Court in August which will be supported by a free walk-in regular medical consultation service courtesy of the Cabrera-Dones Diagnostics Center.

After the FBS profile presentation, Model Court joined the brethren of Model Lodge in a boodle fight in celebration of WB Jojit Floro's birthday, and to commemorate the start of a meaningful year-long blood sugar reduction production with a low-fat lunch.

THE DAY OF THE AMARANTHINE MAYOR

Today, our very own HL Imee Llado-De Guzman took her oath of office as the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

She replaced her husband, WB Leonido "Baby Boy" De Guzman, Jr. who steeped down after serving two terms as mayor.

A proud Model Court joins its host town in welcoming and wishing well Honored Lady Imee, and extends their unconditional support to her incumbency.

During the post-inauguration reception, Model Court's delegation led by RM Baby Liza Ciencia personally conveyed the Court's felicitations to the Honorable Mayor, and handed her the Court's gift and token of love.

3 SCHOOLS AND 350 SCHOOLCHILDREN IN 1 DAY

The water pump at the Felix Pascual Elementary School was stolen and a replacement is urgently needed.

Request given.

Teachers at the Kabulihan Elementary School are in dire need of a portable sound system to aid their school activities.

That was provided.

And the parents at the Rogelio Valdezotto Elementary School have been wishing for electric fans to improve the ventilation in their children's classrooms.

Wish granted.

It was certainly Christmas in July as Model Lodge No. 373 with Model Court and the Munoz Bodies of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites conducted its annual Adopt-a-School project that benefited 350 schoolchildren from three rural schools in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

The donations were made possible by a generous contribution from VW Alexander Coloma (PDDGM) and the collective fundraising effort of Model Lodge, Model Court, and the Munoz Bodies.

NURTURING THE AMARANTH TREE

Exactly two years ago in 2014, the Honored Ladies of Model Court No. 55 led by then Royal Matron Jocelyn Villanueva-Dela Cruz planted the Amaranth Tree in commemoration of Model Lodge No. 373's 9th founding anniversary.

The Amaranth Tree was planted along side with that of the District Tree of then District Deputy Grand Master Juan Jerome Malaca, and the Remembrance Tree of the founding fathers of Model Lodge No. 373, and has been nurtured by the Court, ensuring that it gets watered and cleared to ensure its steady growth.

In many ways, the Amaranth Tree symbolize the evolution of Model Court from a "Baby Court" into a mature organization that is able to withstand the challenges of time, nurtured by the tender care of its Honored Lady members, and steadily supported by its Sir Knight members.

As the Amaranth Tree grows, so does Model Court...
