THE DAY OF THE AMARANTHINE MAYOR

Today, our very own HL Imee Llado-De Guzman took her oath of office as the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

She replaced her husband, WB Leonido "Baby Boy" De Guzman, Jr. who steeped down after serving two terms as mayor.

A proud Model Court joins its host town in welcoming and wishing well Honored Lady Imee, and extends their unconditional support to her incumbency.

During the post-inauguration reception, Model Court's delegation led by RM Baby Liza Ciencia personally conveyed the Court's felicitations to the Honorable Mayor, and handed her the Court's gift and token of love.

3 SCHOOLS AND 350 SCHOOLCHILDREN IN 1 DAY

The water pump at the Felix Pascual Elementary School was stolen and a replacement is urgently needed.

Request given.

Teachers at the Kabulihan Elementary School are in dire need of a portable sound system to aid their school activities.

That was provided.

And the parents at the Rogelio Valdezotto Elementary School have been wishing for electric fans to improve the ventilation in their children's classrooms.

Wish granted.

It was certainly Christmas in July as Model Lodge No. 373 with Model Court and the Munoz Bodies of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites conducted its annual Adopt-a-School project that benefited 350 schoolchildren from three rural schools in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija.

The donations were made possible by a generous contribution from VW Alexander Coloma (PDDGM) and the collective fundraising effort of Model Lodge, Model Court, and the Munoz Bodies.

NURTURING THE AMARANTH TREE

Exactly two years ago in 2014, the Honored Ladies of Model Court No. 55 led by then Royal Matron Jocelyn Villanueva-Dela Cruz planted the Amaranth Tree in commemoration of Model Lodge No. 373's 9th founding anniversary.

The Amaranth Tree was planted along side with that of the District Tree of then District Deputy Grand Master Juan Jerome Malaca, and the Remembrance Tree of the founding fathers of Model Lodge No. 373, and has been nurtured by the Court, ensuring that it gets watered and cleared to ensure its steady growth.

In many ways, the Amaranth Tree symbolize the evolution of Model Court from a "Baby Court" into a mature organization that is able to withstand the challenges of time, nurtured by the tender care of its Honored Lady members, and steadily supported by its Sir Knight members.

As the Amaranth Tree grows, so does Model Court...

RUNNING FOR FUN AND FOR "BAHAY NI KUYA"

The Fun Run

Model Lodge's annual "Takbo para sa Bahay ni Kuya" fun run was conceptualized by SK Virgilio Santos 6 years ago to raise funds for the continuing construction of the Lodge's Masonic Temple.

Model Court was constituted on the same year that the fun run was launched and since then, the Court has been a principal supporter of the project in grateful appreciation of its Sponsoring Lodge who graciously offered to the Court the free use of its Temple, and allocated a room that will serve as the Court's administrative center.

On the fifth edition of the "Takbo Para sa Bahay ni Kuya", Model Court ran with their Kuyangs as always but this time, with the annual fun run as an integral component of Model Court's "Year-long Diabetes Awareness" program.

The Raffle Draw

After every fun run is the raffle draw which is actually the moneymaking part and for this edition, one name for each of the project's 6 years of implementation were picked as winners of kitchen and sporting wares and the grand prize of a fat bike, and earned Model Lodge P100,000.00 for the Teample's ceiling works.

The Temple Clean-Up

To cap the day, the Court and the Lodge worked together in the annual general cleaning of the Temple grounds, trimming the growth, nurturing the trees they both planted two years ago, and dusting the nooks and crannies of a place both the Lodge and Court called home.

NURTURING A COUNTER-DIABETES BASKETBALL TEAM

They called themselves as the 373 Temple Builders because they were organized in 2014 when Model Lodge No. 373 was at the peak of its temple building activity that culminated in a dedication ceremony during the last meeting to be presided of then Lodge Master Shubert Ciencia who is now the incumbent Royal Patron of Model Court No. 55.

But more than just the Lodges' ad hoc Ambassadors of Goodwill, the 373 Temple Builders symbolizes the Lodge's effort to tone down a lifestyle of too much "fellowships", and ultimately temper if not neutralize the debilitating onslaught of social diseases that comes with it, including diabetes.

As such, Model Court help in nurturing the team, in whatever ways, as cheerleaders, as the "Water Girls", as the "food caterers" in every game played.

Because after all, diabetes awareness is a core project of the Order of the Amaranth, and those who played the game in behalf of the 373 Temple Builders are mostly their partners in life and Sir Knights of the Court.

DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH 2: FIRST FBS BLOOD PROFILING AND BASELINING DONE!

A month after being launched, the first 28 of the initial 51 enrollees to Model Court's Year-Long Diabetes Awareness Program lined up to have their FBS blood samples tested and profiled for reference.

The FBS sampling was conducted by a team led by professional nurses, namely Bro. Carlo Valmonte of the Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center and Bro. Jomari Valino of the Cabantuan City MV Gallego General Hospital, both of Model Lodge No. 373, who provided their services for free.

The collected blood samples shall be analyzed by medical specialists and will be the main reference in evolving an appropriate year-long blood sugar reduction program for members of Model Lodge No. 373 and Model Court No. 55 who are the main beneficiaries of the project.

Aside from the blood samples, the blood pressures of the enrollees were also collected and recorded to assist in the diagnosis of individual FBS profiles.

With the FBS profiling done, the next activity of the Year-Long Diabetes Awareness Program will be the interpretation of the results which will be conducted by a team of medical doctors under the supervision of the incumbent District Deputy Grand Royal Matron, SK Irineo Dones (MD).
